In 2009 the Reverse Mortgage market went down a new road when they introduced the Reverse Mortgage for Purchase Program. Simply put, a Senior can sale their current home,(which they raised their family in and no longer meets their retirement needs) and purchase a new home, that better meets their retirement needs and life style. By using the Reverse Mortgage Purchase program, they can use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their existing home as a down payment. Using this down payment we do a Reverse Mortgage on the remaining balance and they live in the new home for the rest of their lives, and with no Principal and Interest payment. This could allow them to keep a good portion of the proceeds from their current home sale to help them enjoy their retirement years. Another unique thing is there are limited credit or income qualifications for the new home they purchase.
